Kate Middleton’s Sunshine Tribute To Jamaica

The Duchess of Cambridge attracted whole Jamaica’s attention by wearing the yellow of the country’s flag as she and Prince William continued their Caribbean tour regardless of the protestors who say that the couple should apologise for dwelling from the blood, tears and sweat of slavery.

William and Kate welcomed the dignitaries and were addressed by members of the military as they touched down at a windy Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston.

The royal tour is broadly seen as a charm offensive to try and deter Caribbean nations from following in Barbados, for instance, the removing of their Queen as their head of state.

The couple, though, were kept far away from protestors outside the British High Commission building as they arrived for an official meeting with the Governor General of Jamaica Patrick Allen, in sometime after they landed.

Jamaican human rights advocate Opal Adisa organised a protest outside the premises few hours before their arrival in the middle of calls for the monarchy to pay re-compensation for human rights abuses and slavery.

The Jamaican flag and the Royal Ensign was also seen hanging from the cockpit window as the Cambridges’ walked down the stairs of the RAF Voyager aircraft.

While the duke took the salute from a guard of honour formed by Jamaica Defence Force troops, the duchess stood nearby under a marquee that quaked in the wind as she held onto the hem of her yellow maxi-gown.

Kate was captured smiling as she stood next to Jamaica’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Kamina Johnson-Smith and Jamaican politician and former Miss World Lisa Hanna at the official welcoming.

When the British government’s plane, RAF Voyager, landed in Jamaica, The Royal stepped out to a warming Jamaican welcome in a bright yellow dress by British fashion brand ROKSANDA.

The exclsuive cheery yellow dress with structured slipover detailing and free flowing trumpet skirt is only available for pre-order and costs $1,453. Out-breaking the pre-order list was no issue for the royal though as she was welcomed to the island of Jamaica.

Kate pulled that elegant dress with a pair of high heels by shoe designers Aquazzura, mother of pearl earrings and a white clutch bag.

The choice of colour is significant and in recent years Kate has become known for her marking of respect to her official hosts by wearing the colours of the country or organizations flag.

The bright yellow colour was picked up and were pictured in the fluttering Jamaican flag and royal ensign which were flown at the airport as part of the royals’ official welcome.
