Hopes High for The New Airbus Deal

Hopes high for the new Airbus deal

The Covid-19 pandemic had changed all our lives back in 2020. And now gradually we are learning to look at how the losses incurred could be recovered. Almost every industry out there has received the blows of the pandemic. Finances have dwindled both on a national or social and individual level. While some sectors continued their work by switching to ‘work from home’ conditions, several industries and businesses were forced to shut down. For instance, the hotel industry, and the travel and tourism industry was one of the worst victims of the pandemic. And as a consequence, the aviation industry had also suffered massive losses.

However, the good news is that the experts all around the world in respective industries are now beginning to turn optimistic provided there is no surge in covid infection internationally.

The travel and tourism industry has begun to witness green shoots recently. The aviation industry is also hopeful about standing back strong again. While Paul Griffiths, the chief executive of the Dubai Airports has made a statement affirming the possible growth and recovery of the aviation industry, here is something more that would certainly testify to you about how our world is slowly rolling back on track again.

The CEO of Airbus, Guillaume Faury has recently stated on the Dubai Air show that the deal concerning A321neo aircraft seems to be a “very positive signal” indicating that they might be on the “front foot” again soon.

Although the exact facts and figures about this deal haven’t been officially known yet, the only thing certain is that it is worth billions of dollars.

Airbus has also recently accepted orders for 255 new aircraft from Indigo Partners and this is extremely important as it marks the first noteworthy financial deal since the beginning of the Covid Pandemic. Guillaume Faury is of the opinion that this order is particularly significant for Airbus visibility and its future planning as it takes them into the “second half of the decade.”

These statements made by Faury, for Airbus might remind you of the similar hope exhibited by Boeing back in September when they stated that they expect to see a swell in the demand for aircraft. Hence, presently people interested in making out industry statistics and watchers would probably closely follow the news regarding aircraft orders from Airbus as well as from Boeing.

While throwing light on the impact of Covid-19 on the aviation industry, Faury has mentioned the significance of climate change among other factors.

He called the COP26 summit a milestone and provided Airbus’ take on the issue stating that they want to start with the “decarbonization of aviation”. This is more so because they believe in utilising hydrogen for the purpose despite the hardships that come with doing so. Faury mentioned that it required “a lot of engineering” but they are working on it now so that they can choose not to put carbon in the air. Back in September, Airbus had released their plans for three concept planes that would use hydrogen as the fuel. They hope to have it up and working by 2035. So here’s wishing more success for Airbus and hoping for better, eco-friendly, and covid free situations in future!
